Reiki Healing
Ready for a Change?
There are no rules about how the healee will respond, however some change will take place. It may not be physical, it could be emotional or attitudinal - but change will occur.
Reiki is the
Japanese term for spiritual energy or universal life force.
What happens during a Reiki session? You will normally be asked to lie down on a massage couch, fully clothed, and the practitioner will begin by asking a few questions about your general health and well-being.
How Does it Work? The Reiki energy is channelled through the practitioner's hands to find its own course to and within the recipient. It can work at a physical, emotional or mental level. As running water smooths the jagged edges of a rock until it is small enough to roll away, so Reiki flows to the areas in need, soothing pain and supporting the recipient's natural ability to heal themselves, physically, emotionally and mentally.
What does it feel like? Most people have a feeling of deep relaxation and inner calm whilst receiving Reiki. The energy can be perceived in many different ways, such as warmth or heat, cold or chill, tingling or slight pulsing, both by the practitioner (through his/her hands) and by the recipient.
How long do the sessions last? The sessions can fast up to an hour and a half. For general
well-being and
